If you have a positive story, the community needs to hear it. And, with more and more people moving to Colorado every day, your story will be refreshed with an endless and expanding audience.
I in the spirit of Frances Xavier Cabrini, pledge to be kinder and more compassionate, and will work to improve the community I live in. I will also take time to care for myself and reflect upon the impact of my actions.

You are awesome Kyle. Keep doing what you love. Bless you always!!!
That first team roster was something else, Kyle. From guys who were drafted to the team that never played a game for them to guys who, when they were traded away had stellar careers for OTHER teams, the Rockies have been the joke of the National League since its inception. From owners who skipped town to one who doesn't know squat about baseball or care about the fans who keep eating his food and drinking his swill, major league baseball here is a joke! Give me Detroit or Los Angeles or St. Louis ANY day. I'm 67 years old and was breast-fed Dodgers. I collected baseball cards from 1965 to 1995. I saw major leaguers BEFORE they were major leaguers. Major League Baseball wanted to reduce the number of teams in the game years ago, they should have taken the Rockies away!
Love this!❤️ Will you put a link on Facebook for the show?
“The tragedy she faced.. brought life to us.”
Those were the words spoken right before this big hug Kacey & Karen shared with Jessica Bachus, the founder of Kenzi's Causes. The twin sisters were 14 when they became a part of Kenzi’s Causes. Their family came to Colorado as refugees from Congo. Kacey & Karen are now 23 & doing great!! They are so grateful for Kenzi’s Causes, stepping in & giving their family a boost almost 10 years ago.
Kenzi’s Causes began in 2007 following the death of Jessica Bachus’ daughter. Kenzi was stillborn at 24 weeks earlier that year. That first Christmas, Jessica collected 150 dolls to boost the spirits of girls who might not otherwise have a doll of their own. Through Kenzi’s Causes, Jessica is changing the trajectory of struggling families across Colorado.
Kenzi’s Causes has helped 126,000 children in families who are making the necessary steps to be self-reliant but need a little help. From school supplies and Christmas and birthday gifts…to financial planning services, help with certification courses and periodic gift cards to grocery stores, families feel supported & loved.
Thank you #KenzisCauses for all you do and .. thanks to those who volunteer & donate because you make it possible for Kenzi’s Causes to boost up more families… and children like Kacey & Karen!

The first Hershey’s candy bar was made here in Denver and the family moved to Hershey Pennsylvania
Good morning Kyle! So surprised to see one of my favorite people from the old 9News Team in Denver in PA I lived in Denver from '07-'19. I'm a York County PA native and have enjoyed many visits to Hershey Park as a kid. I'm happy to hear you have enjoyed your visit. Hope you can stay and do more in the area. Gettysburg comes to mind. So much to do and history to learn here. I remember your unfortunate encounter on the set with a dog. Listening is so important. I'm proud to see you in PA passing on your message. I wish folks would listen more. Enjoy your visit! Come back again soon!
My old stomping grounds. Had several family members who worked in the factory.
I got very sick in the back of my parents station wagon after eating an entire bag of Reese’s peanut butter cups after leaving Hershey Park. I would do it again 😄.
I went twice — once with my parents, and again with our kid(s). It’s where to get the freshest chocolate, which really makes a difference in the taste.
Look at that smile! It makes me happy to see you happy Kyle Dyer !😃🙂🤣👍🏾
Spent many days there when I was growing up in Pennsylvania!
Visited Hershey for the 1st time this year. He gave his fortune to the kids and community
Love this ❤️ nice to see you again Kyle
The spa at the hotel is wonderful! Cocoa facial! Chocolate Immersion!
Denver here. It's great to see you again! We visited one in California around 1983.
I was born and raised in Maryland moved to Colorado 1989 visited Hersey a few times have fun.
When my daughter was covering the PA legislature for AP years ago I visited her - impressed by the Hershey Kisses street lamps and the smell of chocolate in the air ❤️ we still watch 9NEWS and still miss you!
I love this !!
They use to have on the top of the street lights, Hershey kisses.
They used to sell "cocoa hulls" to be used as yard mulch...and our yard used to smell like chocolate for a month. 🙂
Great picture ❤️
Wonderful Kyle !!
I loved reconnecting with friends this weekend, when emceeing at the Mother Cabrini Shrine Gala… and these two spectacular Colorado women treat everyday as an opportunity to help others, much like St. Frances Xavier Cabrini did.

What fun to listen to one of LoDo’s “early settlers.” Senator John Hickenlooper opened Wynkoop Brewing Co. in 1988 when there was not much in Denver’s Lower Downtown… the area was desolate and dilapidated.

Congratulations to Jamila with the arrival of her baby boy.. and for working hard to find a home for her family! She's a survivor!
Jamila has faced a lot of trauma in life, first fleeing war torn Ethiopia as a baby and living in a refugee camp for three years before coming to the U.S. and settling in Colorado. The fleeing continued, with her mother trying to escape domestic violence situations. Last March, Jamila's mother turned violent towards her.. and then, as an expectant mom and mother of a 7yo girl, her husband left her and she had no where to go.
"It was a blessing to end up at Samaritan House and not on the streets," Jamila told me. She found a safe and supportive environment where she could figure out her next steps, her daughter could get help with school and play with other children... and together, they made new friends who have become a second family.
Catholic Charities of Denver now has onsite therapists working at Samaritan House to help the families who come for shelter.
"The stories that we hear, the prevalence of trauma... we do a technical trauma assesments upon arrival and the scores are off the charts, for what people have experienced before they’ve come here," Samaritan House Family Services Manager Josh Zielinski said. Adding to that is Rachel Volmert, SH's Clinical Director: "We’re providing that really safe place for them to come in to process, to just have that human interaction and acknowledge the stress that they’re experiencing."
"It hasn't been easy but when God closes one door, he opens so many more," Jamila told me. "Samaritan House makes you ready for the real world after being homeless. I'm grateful and I feel loved.. and for someone to have love, real love.. that’s a blessing."
Thank you Jamila for sharing your story with me. The full version will premiere at Friday night's Sam's Supper, which supports all of Catholic Charities' Shelters in the Denver area.

The highlight of my week was reconnecting with former Governor Roy Romer for my team's documentary on what it took to bring Major League Baseball to Colorado. He is lovely, absolutely lovely.. he spoke of the can-do spirit of Coloradans working together and his love for the American West. He started playing softball when he grew up in a farm in Holly... and is grateful to have been part of the team that helped usher in the Colorado Rockies to Denver.

I was at the press conference when Bill White and Bob Gebhardt announced we were getting the Rockies. Miss seeing your smiling face.
Happy Colorado Day!! I'm excited to report that I'm embarking on a documentary that celebrates this wonderful state. It's to be called: When Colorado Went Major League!
Who remembers how the Colorado Rockies came to be? Major League Baseball didn't make the decision on a whim. Back in the 80s and early 90s, it took some real convincing to show MLB that our minor league city was ready for the big leagues! And convincing we did.... together! At a time when it is hard to agree on many things, this story shows how when people work together, listen to one another, compromise, keep the can-do spirit alive and never give up on a dream.. a lot of good can happen!! And in this case, the city of Denver and the state of Colorado were forever changed!
The Rockies first season in Colorado was in 1993.. and our documentary will be shared next year, in celebration of the Rockies' 30th Season! The Kyle Dyer Storytelling team is thrilled to be working with Colorado Baseball History Inc. to bring this important history to life for all of you!
I'd love to hear any of your stories or see any photos you have from back in the day. And I'll share with you snippets of what the Kyle Dyer Storytelling team discovers along the way.

My great uncle used to go to the field over by Gates rubber company off of Platte River n Broadway, I believe, then at mile high to watch the Denver Bears play back in the 50s n 60s. Have an awesome evening!
This Kyle looks very happy
I look forward to watching this. Back then there was so much excitement surrounding the Rockies. I still have my first cap from when the team was announced. I remember going to the Fourth of July game at Mile High when Dante Bichette hit a HR in extra innings to beat the Cubs. It is too bad that today because of poor ownership most of the excitement surrounding the team is gone.
I remember going to the Rockies games in the old Mile High Stadium, before Coors Field was built. I can’t wait to see what you do with this!!
Kyle, Please see my message to your regarding our Colorado baseball collection at the National Ballpark Museum. Thank you for compiling this story!
Best wishes on your documentary I was happy to see your beautiful face 💐I was a loyal fan of yours from day one when you started career
Back in '90, there was a lunch time rally at the 1801 California atrium to try and impress upon NL president Bill White that we really wanted a baseball team. He had been meeting with the Denver baseball contingent who requested that the public attend the rally. It was late winter and cold thus it was held inside. I went down there with coworkers and a couple thousand people filled that small atrium area and were chanting, "baseball, baseball, baseball"! I like to think that helped convince MLB to pick Denver.
Irv Brown and Joe Williams pushed it daily on their show
KWGN still has pictures in their vault of myself and a lifelong friend when we young teenager meeting the Rockies and Cubs my grandmother pulled some strings to make it happen , especially meeting Sammy Sosa but the strike filled year the photos never made it back to us true story .
The Denver Zephyrs were far and away better than the Rockies are. Jim Burris knew how to run a team, even though the players were there on the call of the general manager of the Reds, the Brewers and whatever other teams the Z's were the AAA affiliate of. Guys like Paul O'Neill and Barry Larkin turned into superstars with Cincinnati. I wonder how many players on the Rockies current roster would even make another major league team's active 25 roster. I'm a baseball fan from way back in the mid-1960s, Kyle, and what we see at Coors Field night in and night out IS NOT major league baseball.
I went to the zephyrs last game which was a championship game and The first doubleheader Rockies history. I snuck in a 5 pound peanut bag the old mile high stadium. When the peanutscracker jacks in beer guy came in the offer us some peanuts I lose up the hole 5 pound bag of nuts and I yelled right here. The beer guy stopped his tracks and gave me the dirtiest look. The whole section laughed Up a storm.
Beautiful ❤👌🏾👍🏾! Look at that great smile!😃
I was at an early game at Mile High Stadium. They were giving out Rockies shirts too.
In the 70's we were set to buy the Oakland As (can't remember who was the buyer) and then the owner of the As backed out of the deal.
So very good to see you! I miss you!
You should reach out to Matthew Repplinger who wrote “Baseball in Denver.” He’s so knowledgeable. ⚾️
Me me me... saw the Zephers when I first moved here!
Miss seeing you every day.
Can’t wait for that!
Mark S. Mcdonald Sr. Your son played ball with one of the Rockies coaching staff, or was it one of the team members? Mom and Dad held season tickets for a long time. You might collaborate a bit here.
Should be an interesting story. But if we wouldn’t have gotten a team, maybe we wouldn’t have 1.5M people move here , we wouldn’t have legalized marijuana and now have 300k homeless, we might have a rancher as governor and we would be the western fist of a strong country. Maybe?
Kyle Dyer , 🙂🥰👌🏾👍🏾

It was 30 years ago this month when A League of their Own hit the big screen… it’s a movie that makes me smile because I spent an entire summer in Evansville, Indiana covering the making of this film for the local CBS station. It was a big deal for Evansville!
How’s this for a throwback: Here I am with Centerfielder “All the Way Mae,” played by Madonna. Look at my hair.. yikes. This moment in time was captured by the late Don Goodaker for The Evansville Courier & Press.
This movie brought to life the true stories of the women who made up the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in 1943, when WW2 threatened MLB because the players were all off setving our country.
⚾️More storytelling surrounding baseball & community are in the works for me. more to come ⚾️ ... See MoreSee Less

And the old Fort Collins High School had a small cameo in the early part of that movie as well. There is a Netflix Original called “A Secret Love” that also ties to this movie that is very heartwarming and special.

Curious what it means for the air in Colorado with this week's Supreme Court ruling on the EPA'S ability to limit air pollution from power plants? Well, it makes state leadership even more essential.... and Conservation Colorado is dedicated to connecting those in office with citizens to make changes to improve air quality, which ultimately is a health issue. This past session, a bill was passed that will create enforceable monitoring systems for pollutants in our state.
